Kathy Perry visits new Dali Museum

When my daughter, Kirstan, was visiting from New York recently, we went to the new Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida.  It is beautiful and we enjoyed learning all about the art and artist on the guided tour.  It was a perfect day to enjoy some of Florida’s finest places to visit.

Kathy Visiting the family in Michigan

I went up to Michigan for my Mom’s 84th Birthday Party and wanted to share some of the pictures.  It was very cold – 5 degrees for the low and 22 degrees for the high – and it snowed too.  I had to go to my storage unit to find some winter clothes, jacket, scarf, gloves and hat for the trip.   The picture of me all bundled up didn’t save for some reason.  It was great to see the family and be a part of the celebration.

Christmas pictures – 2011

It was a great time having my family together for Christmas this year. We enjoyed Christmas Eve at Universal Studios and especially the Harry Potter area at Islands of Adventure. Then we were off to Cocoa Beach for the rest of the vacation. I enjoyed the time of being unplugged from work and just relaxing and having fun.

Busch Gardens – Tampa

In continuing my Birthday Celebration, I spent the day at Busch Gardens with my good friend, Joanne Weiland.  It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed going through the park looking at all the animals. We didn’t get on any of the crazy roller coaster rides – we just watched.   We rode the train from the Nairobi Station to Stanleyville and we enjoyed riding on the Carousel.  Nothing crazy, just a wonderful, relaxing day.

November 22, 2006

The Holidays are upon us and the question is: How do we stay out of stress?

That’s a great question, since our workload just doubled – with gifts, parties, decorations, etc. and we were already too busy. And did you notice that the Christmas decorations seem to get put out earlier each year. I saw major department stores starting to put out Christmas decorations before Halloween. I also attended two Christmas parties before Thanksgiving, because people are so booked and stressed during December, they just wanted to get them out of the way.

To stay out of stress, you need to prioritize things based on their importance to you. Sometimes we get so caught up in doing tasks that we’ve always done, and they really don’t move us closer to our goals. The tasks are just busy work that make us crazy or we are doing them out of obligation. Ask yourself these questions: Is this going to help me move towards my goals? Is this important to me?

Always have the end in mind and you will know whether or not it passes the “important to me” test. Other tips to stay out of stress for the holidays are: exercise, eat right, rest when your body tells you to, stay positive, look for the good in others, be grateful for all your blessings and celebrate your life.

Be safe as you travel this holiday season – starting with Thanksgiving!
