I attended the 7 Figure Speaker Empire Workshop and Open House in Tampa. A J Puedan, Dustin Mathews and Dave VanHoose shared tips and strategies on how they help speakers become more successful.
A J opened the workshop by having someone come up and help buckle him into a straight-jacket to share a very compelling message of how we struggle to do things as he maneuvered out of the straight-jacket. He said when you are doing something wrong, doing something right feels wrong.
Dustin talked about getting back to the classics and shared some Dan Kennedy teachings about the Message, the Market and the Media. AJ talked about traffic, conversion, monetization and a formula for a successful presentation.
Dave talked about how to start your business without capital by pre-selling your products and events. He shared that sometime you get stuck in your own forest and need specialized knowledge to help you out. It was a lot of great information and a fun time.
I attended the RealTalkers’ Toastmasters meeting and BrightHouse Networks’ Jen Holloway was the guest speaker. She shared tips on talking with the media. She has such a passion for media.
Here are some tips she shared with us: give short and succinct answers to questions, make your sound bites count, once you sit down everything is being recorded, don’t wear black or white, don’t wear clothing with a busy pattern, wear bright and contrasting solid colors, and they will usually film B-Roll for filler.
It was great to attend the Kickoff Campaign for the Tampa Mayoral Race, where former Mayor Dick Greco announced his candidacy. Chris Krimitsos has put together a top notch Social Media Team to assist former Mayor Dick Greco in his bid for Mayor. Exciting to see the energy behind this great man!
I attended Joe Malinowski’s presentation on Linkedin today at the Centre Club in Tampa. He shared lots of tips: complete your profile, make it engaging and easy to read, use the advanced search capability, personalize your invitations, ask and answer questions, were a few of the things he covered. Some of the applications he recommends are: Wordpress on Linkedin, Reading List by Amazon, SlideShare, Google Docs and Creative Portfolio. He did a great job in covering how he uses Linkedin and Facebook together.
Here’s a picture of me with Charles Armstrong, the CEO of SparkLabs in Tampa, Florida. Charles was interviewed by Chris Krimitsos at The Wealth Building Annex (TWBA). It was a delightful interview and I enjoyed learning how this young man has accomplished so much and is so innovative.
It was a great time having my family together for Christmas this year. We enjoyed Christmas Eve at Universal Studios and especially the Harry Potter area at Islands of Adventure. Then we were off to Cocoa Beach for the rest of the vacation. I enjoyed the time of being unplugged from work and just relaxing and having fun.
